Orientation evaluation/Teaching Load

First, just as a friendly reminder since I assume most of you haven't memorized my biography, I already have a M.A. from Northern Arizona University. Because of this, I entered the Georgia College & State University MFA program on the two year track and am able to teach my first year. I just wrote an entry comparing the teaching load/orientations of the two programs. It's longish, so I just wanted to send you a direct link to my webpage if you're interested:

If that link doesn't work for some reason or another, you can just go to rachelmarsom.com and it's the second one down.

Hope you are all well. Advice: Airborne yourself during orientation week. I've been dosing myself with vitamins. New people make me sicko!

  1. Great advice about the vitamins! I hadn't thought of that, but it makes sense. I have orientation starting on Monday, so I can make a more intelligent comment then.

  2. You sound like a pro talking about this teaching stuff. I can't believe how much experience you already have through getting your MA. And you taught more than fresh. comp. already. I'll definitely be referring back to you when it's time for me to teach.

  3. On a trip to London, everyone on the cabin came down with the same cold. I took vitamins the entire time there, and ended up beating it before everyone else did.

  4. I recommend dosing oneself before grading the first batch of papers too... Students' germy little hands contaminate everything!
