Application Crisis

Hi yall. I hope you're settling into your spring semesters well. I know that my students still don't seem to know what's going on! Hopefully next week, they'll have adjusted, since that'll be their first "normal" week.

But I don't want to talk about them, I want to talk about ME--in a permanent state of crisis! I'm starting to worry about what will happen AFTER my MFA, and I wrote about it over at rachelmarsom.com.

  1. before I click over there...I, too, have been obsessing over what to do post-mfa! Luckily, classes started today so I can get my mind back where it belongs...on my writing! Okay, let me go see if you're as crazy as I've been lol

  3. I am right now about 50/50 on whether I will apply to PhD programs in lit or whether I will take my lovely terminal degree and run ;) Ha ha! Actually, if I don't do the PhD, my plan is to stick around Penn State and teach for 3-4 years and gain as much diverse teaching experience as possible (it's something a lot of MFAs do and the university offers them fixed term positions - supposed to be only 3 years, but if I am still in the relationship with the person I started dating this fall, I would try to get a 4th year since that would be his last year here as well).

The only thing I am sure of is that I want to teach.
