Surprise, your classroom's not a crypt!!!

Today, after a lot more orientation activities, I trekked over to check out my classroom where I'll be teaching twice a week. I was delighted to find that I'm going to be in a corner classroom with five windows!!! It does have an old fashioned chalk board that will take some getting used to (my handwriting's terrible on chalkboards), but I'll happily swim in chalk dust for this lovely room that I hope will inspire me and my students... I love when the universe offers unexpected gifts. :-)

  1. That classroom looks lovely! I'm jealous...except for the chalkboard. I am very thankful for my whiteboard in my basically windowless classroom.

I have a chalk on my hands phobia, and I also have a bad tendency of making chalk squeak on chalkboard, which annoys the crap out of my students!

  2. That's a great looking room! I am on the third floor with one wall full of windows, which isn't bad at all.

And I kind of like chalkboards. They're so nostalgic! I quickly got used to writing on them this semester, so I'm sure you'll be fine :)

  6. Oh, chalk is so cool and old-school. And so Urban Outfitters. And so much cuter than dry-erase marker when you get any on yourself or your clothes. And easier to wash!
