What Are You Thankful For?

by Christopher Cocca

Nathan Bransford has nice Thanksgiving meme up at his blog today: What are you thankful for in the writing/publishing world?

Nathan is an agent at Curtis Brown and a soon-to-be published author himself. His blog and twitter feed are worth following.

  1. I am so thankful to have made it into an MFA program, to actually be living that dream. I started planning 2 years before I actually applied and I can't believe things went according to plan. I am thankful for the constant confirmation that I'm on the right path. My dreams aren't crazy. :)

  2. I'm thankful for this blog, the MFA Blog, Tom Kealey's book, the link to Nathan's blog (thanks, Christopher!)for the people who followed through and actually read my samples when I sent them to them and for the fact that I finally got serious about getting serious as a writer. Hopefully, next year at this time I will be feeling grateful for having been admitted to a great MFA program. Happy Thanksgiving y'all!

And I'm thankful to be in an MFA program and having an excellent experience. Right now I'm thankful for a successful Thanksgiving Break and thankful to be back at Penn State and getting ready to finish up the semester.

  7. I'm thankful for some version of a steady income, for my writing, for the places I've been to, for my family, my health, and my opportunities. Also thankful for thermal shirts, khaki pants, scarves and pillow-top mattresses.
