First week's over!

YEA! Unfortunately, it looks like this weekend is going to be too short. Labor day is on the horizon...just a few weeks away, but I think that weekend my house is going to be filled with visiting boys, so it may or may not be much of a break. But I won't talk about that now!

Anyway, I just posted a blog about some of my first week reflections. This is less "comparison/contrasty" compared to my last entry about assistantships/orientation. These are just some general reactions/ideas about what I'm doing!

Have a great weekend! Here's the linky

First Week Reflections

  1. Sounds like you've had a busy first week. I love that you're setting aside Friday afternoons to work on your novel. I am in the process of mapping out a writing schedule for myself.

How do you like the people in your program so far? Have you all socialized much?

  2. I'm actually a poet, so devoting any time to work on fiction/other weird projects is really hard for me. Hopefully I'll be able to stick to this kind of schedule.

Yes! People are SO friendly. Have already attended one Wine&Cheese party, and was invited to another party this afternoon that I missed (migrainy afternoon). Living in the South is wonderful!

  3. Rachel, I totally understand what you mean about being a poet and finding it difficult to devote time to other writing projects. I have this stupid feeling that I'm cheating on poetry lol. And it seems like it's hard to be excited and energetic about more than one project at a time. I think it's good that you set aside a chunk of time on one day. I think I might do that too. Pick a day and devote it to fiction or something. I was going to try to write a little fiction every day or not at all so thanks for sharing your idea.
